Advocacy

Although the majority of VIAH's funding is provided for delivery of residential and day program services, VIAH maintains a small capacity to provide information and advocacy services.

Examples of these services are:

• Assisting persons to apply for disability or other benefits
• Referring persons to specific resources in the community
• Maintaining up to date information about autism on our agency website

Adults on the Autism Spectrum or families/advocates working on their behalf can request advocacy and information services from VIAH. Individuals are encouraged to contact the VIAH office directly by phone, fax, email, mail or in person.

In cases where VIAH is unable to assist due to lack of funding or expertise, clients are referred to other service providers.

The Society accepts tax deductible charitable donations as a means of ongoing funding for these services.
